The ICI-College Basketball Team made history after clinching their first-ever finals berth in the Bulacan University and Collegiate Athletic Association (BUCAA) with a dramatic victory over Bulacan State University on November 24, 2025. What began as a tough matchup transformed into an unforgettable comeback that had the entire crowd on edge.
BulSU opened the game strong, controlling the first quarter with a 28–18 advantage. ICI fought to keep up, but the early momentum clearly favored their opponents. By the second quarter, ICI found their offensive rhythm, closing the gap but still trailing at halftime, 48–39.
ICI inched closer in the third quarter, improving their defense and attacking the basket more aggressively, ending the period at 70–62, still behind but gaining confidence.
Then came the fourth quarter, a defining moment for the team.
Fueled by determination and the deafening support of the crowd, ICI delivered a massive comeback. With just 50 seconds left, the game was tied, setting the stage for a heart-pounding finish. At the 42-second mark, John Cortez from the Psychology Department rose to the occasion, sinking a crucial basket that pushed ICI ahead, 84–82. BulSU attempted to answer, but ICI’s defense held strong until the final buzzer.
The game concluded with a thrilling score: ICI 84 – BulSU 83, officially sending ICI to the BUCAA Finals for the very first time.
