ICISM VS. PUPSMB AT BUCAA : ICI DOMINATES AMID BATTLE OF THE TWO MARIANS
VICTORY COLISEUM, San Rafael - The two of the four premier collegiate teams of Santa Maria in Bulacan University and Colleges Athletic Association Meet 2024 (BUCAA) ; Immaculate Conception International College of Arts and Technology Santa Maria (ICISM), and Polytechnic University of the Philippines - Santa Maria Bulacan Branch (PUPSMB), faced off for domination and glory, 2nd of May 2024 at Victory Coliseum, San Rafael, Bulacan.
The ICONs' initial ball maneuvers and defensive tactics proved to be crucial in immediately scoring the upper-hand against their PUPSMB counterparts as their lead continued to rise almost unopposed up to second quarter, 54-36.
ICISM proved to be unstoppable as their lead further swelled during the third frame, 100-60, a spectacular 40-point blow from the basketball ICONs.
At the start of the final period, PUPSMB tried to catch-up with ICISM's rampage by putting up initial successes on its 'mini-runs', however the game is still in favor of ICI and their opponents conceded at the last 23 seconds of the concluding frame with a staggering tally of 113-76.
The dominating victory is extremely vital for ICISM as it will start their comeback in the league after being fended twice in their previous games vs. FCPC, and JILCF as their dominance enabled them to gain a spot in the winner's column of the league, with 1-2 win-loss stats in BUCAA.
Meanwhile, PUPSMB will go home following the major upset as their team's ranking in the league further regressed, 0-4.
